Logan is still the one in charge even after his decision to sell his company.

How he is looking down from the building means that his position is still solid even after his children want to overthrow him from the throne. Quoting his words, “I’m a hundred feet tall. These people are pygmies.”

Succession Story

Succession Show

Succession follows the story of the Roy family, the media conglomerate Waystar RoyCo.

The head of the family, Logan Roy (Brian Cox), has his health declined because of his age. He has 4 children with his two previous wives; Connor Roy (Alan Ruck), Kendal Roy (Jeremy Strong), Roman Roy (Kieran Culkin), and Siobhan “Shiv” Roy (Sarah Snook).

Just like the title, the story tells about the succession war between four siblings. Each one of them has a unique condition.

The first son, Connor, is removed from the company affairs and spends his days on the ranch in New Mexico. The second son, Kendal, is very ambitious and believes he is the company’s rightful successor. The third son, Roman, is an immature adult who can’t take responsibility for himself. The last child, Shiv, focuses on politics.

The last season brings the unity of the three siblings. They put aside their rivalry for three seasons to confront their father who one-sidedly sells the company to Matson.

Though their effort is to no avail because of the unexpected betrayal of Tom.

The next season focuses on all siblings banding together against Logan.

How do they handle their father when all of their cards have been rendered invalid? Not to mention the betrayal of Tom and Greg ends up solidifying their position in the next chapter of Waystar.

Let’s wait for their clash in spring 2023.

Succession News

Succession TV Series

Succession was created by Jesse Armstong. He intended to feature Murdoch’s family but the script never got into production.

Then, he expanded the scope using a few other references until finally, HBO decided to produce the show in June 2016.

A year later, HBO announced ten episodes were going to be released for the first season. The first season was released on June 3, 2018.

Just a week after the premiere, the second season was decided. The second season was released on August 11, 2019.

Like the second season, the third installment was confirmed a week after the premiere. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the third season got delayed to October 17, 2021.

When the fans were waiting for the delayed third season, Georgia Pritchett, executive producer, said that the succession has eyed the ending. He claimed that succession won’t have more than five seasons or even four seasons is the end of the series.

If this season is the last clash of old Roy against young Roys, let’s hope that it will end on a good note.

Can it sweep many awards like its predecessor? Just wait for the Rebel Alliance VS Logan in the next spring of 2023!
