Leonardo Season 2 Release Date
Luca Barnabei, the producer of Leonardo, confirmed the second season of Leonardo. He confirmed that when he became a guest for the Italian radio show RTL 102.5.
It also commemorated the series’ debut on Amazon Prime Video in the UK and Ireland. Alas, no new information has been released since 2021.

Leonardo is a historical drama set in the 15th century. It tells about the inner emotional clash of Da Vinci. What makes him a great artist, what costs him to be one, and the conclusion that he finds at the end of the journey.
The drama starts when Leonardo da Vinci (Aidan Turner) is accused of murdering Caterina de Cremona (Matilda de Angelis). He is interrogated by a police officer from the Duchy of Milan, Stefano Geraldi (Freddie Highmore).
Da Vinci rejects the accusation. He claims that he is not the one who poisoned Cremona.
The story then changes to the past, when Da Vinci first meets Cremona as a mere apprentice of Andrea del Verrocchio (Giancarlo Giannini).
From there, the story of Da Vinci begins. He faces many trials to fulfill his ambition and the perfection of his art.

Leonardo is a drama created by Frank Spotnitz and Steve Thompson. It tells about the hidden stories of Leonardo Da Vinci and his inner torment for attaining perfection.
It is produced by an Italian production company, Lux Vide, which also makes Medici. Lux Vida collaborates with Rai Fiction, Big Light Production, Sony Pictures Entertainment, and Alfresco Pictures to make this series.
Rai 1 premiered the series for Italy on March 23, 2021. Then, it spread across the world like hotcakes.
Amazon Prime Video aired this series in the United Kingdom and Ireland on April 16, 2021. Several countries also aired this series, including India, Canada, Spain, and the United States.
CW picked up the series for the United States and started premiering on August 16, 2022, as a part of the network’s summer program.
It seems the sequel for this series is still far from sight. Lux Vide was taken over by Fremantle in 2022. Moreover, the CW doesn’t guarantee to air the second season because Nexstar has purchased the company.
Luca Barnabei revealed that the second season of Leonardo will be set in Rome, where he meets other giants such as Raphael and Michelangelo.
Reportedly, there is a chance of a spin-off series centering on Michelangelo when he paints The Last Judgment in the Sistine Chapel.
